Being a born and bred New Yorker, Dean Zipes is, of course, a massive Yankees fan, but baseball has always been a part of his life. Dean’s been playing baseball since his childhood, and as he grew, so did his interest in the sport. He played on his high school’s team, and when he graduated and went on to attend college, he played on his college team as well. While he’s not currently playing on a team, Dean remains heavily engaged in the sport outside of just playing it.
In his spare time Dean likes to stay up-to-date with what’s going on in the league. He loves to research the ever-expanding world of statistical metrics, and he stays up to date by reading articles on baseball and his favorite team as well as comparing stats of past and present generations. He’s always loved the Yankees and enjoys staying on top of current player and team stats.
Outside of the action and the mechanics behind the sport, Dean loves baseball for what it is: a team sport that fosters a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. For the time being, his interest in baseball is more hands-off, though he’s looking forward to getting back into playing the game himself.
Outside of his personal interest in baseball, Dean Zipes is pursuing a career in law as a lawyer and is currently enrolled in law school. After being a police officer for many years he gained a deeper respect for the law. Dean wanted to become more well-rounded and better equipped to help others with his new career path. He spent his first year of law school in San Francisco, but is finishing his degree at the University of Florida.
Law school can be intense and time consuming in a way many people will never experience. Dean is making the most of his learning experience as well as his free time. He is in the process of becoming a volunteer for the National Alliance on Mental Illness and has reached out to local gun safety organizations. Dean Zipes is also volunteering for a program that teaches gun safety to children in order to prevent injuries and death.
Dean is using his experience as a police officer to become an incredible lawyer. His volunteer work shows that he has what it takes to help his entire community become a safer place for everyone. Dean Zipes is an example for all of us that pursuing your goals with determination and grit can lead to many beneficial results. He is a passionate and hardworking individual who has plans to make a positive impact on the world.
